| Name: Ed Groover Call sign (alias): Greyburn How did you get that call sign? Any particular meaning? It's a name I've used in games for many years. The meaning of my name is twofold. It's a reference to what happens to my gray matter when I think too much or work for too many hours at a time, and my preference of playing magic characters over warriors in RPGs (characters who rely on their minds over their muscles). Position at Origin (job title): Client programmer. What do you do (i.e. what's that job title really mean)? I add new features to the client, improve old features and fix client bugs. Where were you on this day 10 years ago? Working at a small print shop in Dallas. What is your favorite thing about UO? The fact that I can continue to change my characters over time. If I get bored with a skill, I don't need to start a new character. I just move my old one in a new direction. Most embarrassing moment (in-game or out)? Taunting a thief who was snooping in my backpack about four years ago, only to have him steal my regs and slaughter me a second later. At the time I thought my regs were safe because they were about 15 bags deep and all of the bags were covered with robes and other junk. I wouldn't be so embarrassed about it if I had not done it in front of Jalek. I can't tell you how many times he's turned all blue in the face from laughing at me over that trick. So tell us… what was your worst subject in school? I don't really remember. Probably history. Favorite way to spend a Friday evening? Drinking some beer. All other details are irrelevant. What's your favorite game of all time? Street Fighter II series. Until UO came along, no other game even came close to wasting more of my time. Do you have pets (in real life)? What are they? No pets. What's your dream car? Corvette. What's your favorite holiday, and why? The weekend. It's my favorite because it happens 52 times a year! Your favorite color? Black. |
