How did you get that call sign? Any particular meaning? It's the name of an old AD&D character, a crazy axe-wielding giant-killing dwarf who loved ale, women, and more ale. Did I mention ale?

Position at Origin (job title): Designer

What do you do (i.e. what's that job title really mean)? I arrange, design and sell shrubberies, er, game systems.

Can you describe your "big break" into the gaming industry? Those 10 years of text-based mudding and late-night programming finally paid off when I interviewed at Origin.

What did you want to be when you were growing up? A professional skateboarder.

Where were you on this day 10 years ago? I was attending college in Wyoming and working as an errand boy for the campus computer department. Laser printers were heavy 10 years ago.

What is your favorite thing about UO? The depth; I love that I can still discover some little detail or nuance even after years of playing and designing Ultima Online.

What is your fondest memory in UO? I'd have to say the 20-hour marathon sessions I used to do when I first started playing. We'd run to the store, buy the least healthy junk food we could find, play until server restart, take a short break, and then continue until we couldn't stay awake at the keyboard.

Most embarrassing moment (in-game or out)? Just take my advice: always double-check your email recipients when using the Reply To All button.

So tell us… what was your worst subject in school? I failed freshman English twice, although I got a job as a technical writer right out of college.

Favorite way to spend a Friday evening? Playing games with my fiancé. Although I'm not sure it's her favorite thing to do on a Friday night, but we like to kill stuff together.

What's your favorite game of all time? Fallout. Laying waste to entire towns, great plot, Mad Max references, double-crossing, and the alien blaster. They even have some tasty recipes in the back of their game manual, and yes, I've made them all.

Your favorite comic (comic books or online comics)? Wolverine. Oh yeah. I wish I were Wolverine. I'd always have a letter opener.

What is your favorite food? Pork skins with cheese whiz. It's dreamy.

Do you have pets (in real life)? What are they? Just a bunch of mice, all named Logitech.

What's your dream car? Anything with armor plating, machine guns, and a really loud stereo.

What's your favorite holiday, and why? Christmas. Family, gifts and turkey. And pudding. And stuffing.

Your favorite color? Blue. No, yel--- auuuuuuuuugh!

And last but not least… If you had to be stranded in the Britannian desert for the rest of your life, what one person would you want with you? My fiancé. As luck would have it, we've already placed a house there.
