Traveling Britannia is not for landlubbers alone. The world of Ultima Online includes an enormous ocean environment, complete with various sea creatures that you can hunt.

Six different sailing vessels of various sizes can be purchased for sea travel. Sail the ocean blue as a proud fisherman and catch fish, footwear, or even a sea serpent! Or be a pirate and plunder other ships, hiding your treasure on an uncharted island far away from those pesky adventurers.

Use boats to travel to distant places - or make it a lifestyle, and live off the sea!

Why go to town to visit a tavern when you can create your own? In Ultima Online, players have the option to open their homes to the public. With the proper decorations and a staff of player-controlled NPCs (Non-Player Characters), anyone can turn their humble abode into a popular establishment.

Create a tavern for those who prefer sharing good times with friends over a nice, frothy mug of ale. Or build the largest vendor mall in the realm and sell an enormous selection of wares, including armor and weapons for adventurers who need new equipment. You could even open a museum that showcases extravagant items you've collected from your travels across Britannia. You're only limited by your imagination!

Ultima Online provides more possibilities than any other game when it comes to creating decorations using items in the game world. Want to show off a faux grand piano in your castle? If you have a small table, a chessboard, and some dyed-black clothing, you can make one! Our players have created everything from aquariums, to lava lamps, to their country's flags, to indoor fountains, to fireplaces - and all from the thousands of items found in the game world. In no other game will you find this kind of freedom to be creative!

On the top of this tower, a player has used dyed fabric and fish caught from the sea, as well as a few other in-game items, to create an aquarium!
