Official Rules and Conditions

1. Entry. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, refer a person to become a member/subscriber of Ultima Online™ (UO) through the NEW Ultima Online™ Bring A Friend To Britannia™ program anytime between April 15, 2003, and May 15, 2003, (the "Program Period"). If during the UO account creation/activation process the person you refer identifies you as the referring "Buddy" by entering your UO account email address in the entry field as directed, you will be automatically entered for a chance to win. You may also enter by submitting your user/screen name, UO account email address and date of birth to housecontest@uo.com. No other methods of entry will be accepted. Limit: one entry per person/email address. Completed entries (including any required parental consent form) must be received by 11:59 p.m. CST on May 15, 2003. To qualify for entry as a "Buddy", your account must be current, active and in good standing when identified as the "Buddy". Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for lost, incomplete, incorrect, or misdirected entries. Use of a false email account will disqualify an entry. Sponsor is not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic or other communications. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person who, tampers with the entry process or the operation of the web site, or who otherwise violates these rules. By entering, entrants accept and agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and Conditions.

2. Prizes; Winner Selection and Notification. There are 10 prizes.

Ten (10) Prizes: Ten (10) Winners will each receive one (1) of ten (10) available UO in-game (18x18 tiles) custom Game house plots* in Malas* (ARV$0) on Winners choice of one (1) UO in-game Shard* (ARV$0).

Further, if the friend you refer and who designates you as a "Buddy" becomes a UO subscriber and maintains an active account for at least ninety (90) consecutive days, you will receive a reward of one (1) free month of access to the UO game service and an in-game Fortuity Necklace* with a +200 luck bonus. Your UO account must be active, current and in good standing at the time of reward claim and distribution. For additional Program details see www.uo.com/buddy.html.

*UO in-game house plots, Shards, Malas and Fortuity Necklaces are all virtual assets with no cash value. UO house plots represent in-game real estate, Shards represent in-game locations in which to live, Malas is a land mass on each Shard and Fortuity Necklaces are wearable in-game luck items.

Winners will be determined by random drawing on or about May 19, 2003.

Odds of winning each Prize depend upon the number of eligible entries in this Sweepstakes. Winners may be required to complete and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release, in the form provided by Sponsor, within 14 days of attempted notification in order to claim Prize. If a minor wins a prize, it will be awarded in the name of a parent or legal guardian and the minor's parent or legal guardian is responsible for signing any necessary releases, consents and affidavits of eligibility. Canadian winners must also answer a skill-based question in order to claim Prize. Winners will be notified by an email sent to the email address specified at the time of entry. If Winner cannot be contacted at this email address, is contacted and does not respond as directed within 14 days of attempted notification, refuses the Prize or is ineligible to accept the Prize, the Prize will be considered "not claimed" by the winner and will not be awarded. UO Game Masters will transfer ownership of awarded Game house plots/Shard prizes to Winner's account via in-game support tools. Winner's UO account must be current, active and in good standing at the time of prize award and distribution.

Prizes are not transferable. No substitution of prizes for cash or other goods and services is permitted, except Sponsor reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of approximately equal value. Choice and selection of UO in-game (18x18 tiles) Game house plots to be awarded are within the sole discretion of Sponsor.

3. Eligibility. This Sweepstakes is only open to residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Canada (except Quebec) who are 13+ years of age or older at time of entry. Residents of Quebec are not eligible. Employees of Electronic Arts Inc., EA.com Inc., and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, representatives, advertising, promotion and publicity agencies and the immediate families of each are not eligible. Sweepstakes is void where prohibited, restricted or taxed by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

4. General Conditions. Electronic Arts Inc., EA.com Inc., and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, representatives, advertising, promotion and publicity agencies, are not in any way responsible or liable for damages, loss or injury resulting from entrants' participation in this Sweepstakes or the acceptance, shipping and handling, loss or use of any Prizes awarded in this Sweepstakes. Winners assume sole liability for injuries, including personal injuries and/or damage to property, caused or claimed to be caused by participating in this Sweepstakes or the acceptance, shipping and handling, loss or use of any Prize awarded. Sponsor has the right to cancel, terminate or modify this Sweepstakes if it cannot be completed as planned due to computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, technical failures, or other conditions beyond Sponsor's control. Sponsor is not responsible for any failure to contact entrants, whether due to technical or human error. By entering this Sweepstakes, each entrant consents to the posting of his or her hometown, first name, user, screen and/or UO character name on the http://www.uo.com/bringafriendrules.html website if chosen as a winner.

5. Winners list. A winners list will be available at http://www.uo.com/bringafriend.html after approximately May 19, 2003 and posted until approximately August 31, 2003 and is also available by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope marked "New Buddy Program House in Malas Sweepstakes" to 5918 West Courtyard Dr. Austin TX, 78730-5036.
