Soulstone Fragments are small pieces of a shattered Soulstone that have retained some of the Soulstone's energy. These fragments are only strong enough to store a fraction of the original Soulstone's power and can be used to transfer skills up to 5 times. After the power of the fragment has been depleted, it can be used as a decoration for your humble abode. There are 9 different Soulstone Fragments available to collect and trade.

Now you can enter your Samurai Empire upgrade code found on the back of your CD jewel case into UO's in-game promotion tool, and you will be given a Promotional Token that can be redeemed for a Soulstone Fragment.

Q: How can I get my Soulstone Fragment?
A: All you have to do is enter your Ultima Online: Samurai Empire upgrade code, found on the back of your UOSE CD jewel case, into the in-game promotional tool. Your code will be validated, and a Promotional Token will be placed into your backpack. For detailed, step-by-step instructions, click here.

Q: Where can I find my Ultima Online: Samurai Empire upgrade code?
A: This is found on the back of your Ultima Online: Samurai Empire CD jewel case. There are two codes there, but you'll want to enter the Current Player Account Upgrade Code, NOT the New Player Account Registration Code. Entering the wrong code won't cause any harm, but it will cause you to wonder why the code doesn't work.

Q: Help! My Current Player Account Upgrade Code doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong?
A: Probably. Make sure to enter your code exactly as it appears. That includes all capitals and using dashes. Also, make sure that you haven't entered any leading or trailing spaces with the code. If your Upgrade Code is valid, it will work as long as you enter it correctly.

Q: What exactly is a Soulstone Fragment? How is it different from a regular Soulstone?
A: A Soulstone Fragment is a piece of a shattered Soulstone that contains a remnant of the Soulstone's energy. Since it is only a small piece of a whole Soulstone, it has a limited amount of energy in which to transfer skills between your characters. This energy will last for 5 uses - after that, you can use it for decoration, because it just looks so darn cool when you stick it in the ground.

Q: What does a Soulstone Fragment do?
A:A Soulstone Fragment allows a UO player to store skill points in a specific skill and to move skill points from one character to another. For instance, if you have a character that you want to be a pure warrior, but he has a bunch of Magery skill points, you can move those Magery skill points to another character you own.

Or, if you have a character you’d like be a blacksmith one day and a warrior the next, store your blacksmith skill points in one Soulstone Fragment and your swordsmanship skill points in another Soulstone Fragment. Change your character back and forth when you wish. (Except during battle. Soulstones cannot be used during battle.)

You can use a Soulstone Fragment five times only. After that, its energy is gone and it's nothing more than decorative rock.

Q: If I transfer a skill to my Soulstone Fragment, and then later decide put it on another character or flush it, does that use two charges?
A: No. The only time a charge is used is when you transfer a skill from the Soulstone Fragment to a character. Flushing a skill or transfering a skill to a Soulstone Fragment does not use a charge.

Q: What is a Promotional Token?
A: Promotional Tokens were created to allow players to trade certain items and services (those that require a promotional code) in-game in a secure manner. For example, before Promo Tokens were created, a player who wanted to buy a Soulstone code from another player had no way to verify that the code was valid before completing the trade. With the Promo Token system, the seller can now enter the Soulstone code herself, thus creating a Promo Token containing the Soulstone which can then be sold in-game to the buyer. This allows players to trade these types of items securely, without worry.

Q: How do I get my Soulstone Fragment from the Promotional Token?
A: Just double-click the Promo Token, and you be presented with a confirmation box asking if you wish to redeem the Promo Token for the Soulstone Fragment that it contains. The Soulstone Fragment will then be placed into your bank box.

Q: Can I use the Soulstone Fragment Token that has been traded or given to a character on an account that is not Samurai Empire access level?
A: No, in order for you to be able to use the Soulstone Fragment token, the account the character is on must be Samurai Empire access level.

Q: I purchased Samurai Empire from Direct2Drive and did not receive an upgrade code. Do I still get a Soulstone Fragment?
A: We have decided to allow the New Account Creation codes included with the Direct2Drive download to be useable in the Promotional Token claim system to collect Soulstone Fragment Tokens. NOTE: THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE NEW ACCOUNT CREATION CODES INCLUDED IN THE STANDARD RETAIL EDITION

Q: Are Soulstone Fragments intended to be given one per active UOSE account, or one per UOSE box purchased?
A:Similiar to the Soulstone pre-order program, Soulstone Fragments will be distributed one per UOSE box purchased.

Q: I used my Promo Token, and have my Soulstone Fragment, but I want to put it back so I can trade it to someone else. How can I do that?
A: You can't. Once an item or service has been redeemed by using a Promo Token, you can not put the item or service back into the Promo Token. Please make sure that you really want to redeem your Promo Token before you do so! Once redeemed, Soulstone Fragments are account specific; the Soulstone functionality will only work on the account they were redeemed with.





Claiming your Soulstone Fragment - The Complete Guide

To obtain your Soulstone Fragment:

1. Click the Help button on your paperdoll.




2. Click the Promotional Code Button in the Help Menu dialog box.



3. Find your Current Player Account Upgrade Code from the back of your Ultima Online: Samurai Empire CD jewel case.




4. Enter the Current Player Account Upgrade Code exactly as it appears. Press the Okay button when you have finished entering the code.




5. A Promotional Token will be created in your backpack. Double-click this Promotional Token to redeem your Soulstone Fragment.



6. If you are sure you want to redeem your Soulstone Fragment now, click the Okay button in the confirmation dialog box.



7. Your Soulstone Fragment will be placed inside of your bank box.
